80.1% of Nobilians use internet regulary: A survey

Contrary to the popular belief that Nobilains do not have an access to internet due to poor infrastructure in Dhanbad, 80.1 per cent of students studying from Class 6 to 12 use internet regularly. An internet literacy survey, conducted by the editorial team of DeNobili.edu.in led by the student editor Harsh Vaibhav, looked into the internet usage of Nobilains in senior section of the school.

  • In the Plus two section, 88 per cent of the students use internet. Social networking site, Orkut, is popular among 80 per cent of the plus two students. Only 59 per cent of Class 12 students are aware of DeNobili.edu.in, the official website of the school.
  • 88 per cent of the students in Class 8 and 83 per cent of the students in Class 10 are aware about the school website.

I have been in the office of the Principal for nearly three months and I feel it is time that I reach to you individually at least through this letter. It wasn't easy for me to handle the disturbances and confusion caused by the local media and a few parents after the recent fee hike. Unfortunately, some of the same parents are ready to cough up any amount of money for the tuitions of their wards. But remember that good quality education comes at a high premium even in India since the free education in India is in a pathetic condition.

Annual Prize Nite celebrated on April 24

De Nobili School, FRI celebrated its Annual Prize Nite on April 24. It was special day for the school as meritorious students were felicitated for their academic achievements. Apart from the award ceremony, the students showcased their talents by putting up cultural programmes like songs and dance. A special skit was performed on the theme -- SAVE OUR EARTH with the purpose of spreading awareness among the visiting parents and students. Principals and the Vice-Principals of the De Nobili School branch schools graced the occassion as chief guests.
