Editorial: A legacy of 52 years at stakeWednesday, 04 February 2009 20:36 It is a shame in the manner in which De Nobili Schools are being targeted by certain section of media and fundamentalists in Dhanbad. The decision to raise the student fees was solely based on the reccomendation of the 6th pay commission. While the government and corporate employees enjoy a high salary, teachers in De Nobili cannot be deprived of the same. There has often been issues about the detoriating quality of teachers at DNS. If I may put it in simple words, Good teachers come with Good salary. DNS does not have any corporate or political backing nor does it get an funds from 'phoren' (a general perception) or the government. Where would the money come from? DNS has always depended on donations and fees.Nobilians Reunion in BaltimoreRajat Bhatia | Wednesday, 13 May 2009 11:20 It was a beautiful summer day - the 9th of May 2009 - as a small group of Nobilians in America had a memorable reunion on the waterfront of Baltimore Harbor, the place where the Star Spangled Banner was written.Father Hess, Father Peacock and Father Sebastian were the Guests of Honor, as Nobilians gathered together to build new friendships and cement old ones. The reunion luncheon at the Cheesecake Factory in Baltimore was a small but memorable event, one which Father Hess and Father Peacock enjoyed tremendously. Despite the vast distances in America, Nobilian Deven Verma with his two beautiful daughters, Anika and Shrita, Nobilian Sharad Mohan with his wonderful wife Jyothi, Nobilian Abhijit Nimgaonkar of the legendary 1975 Senior Cambridge class and myself made the journey to Baltimore's Inner Harbor, next to where the USS Constellation floating museum is now moored. |
Fr Hess: A NOBLE OFFER TO YOUWednesday, 12 August 2009 18:08 Dear NobilianThe new principal of De Nobili School, Fr. Saby (Sebastian) Puthenpura, S.J. fresh from completing an M.A. in Education in New York and with extensive previous experience is determined to add to the luster of De Nobili not only district-wise but nationally. He has ideas, freshness of vision and energy. Funds also are needed. You (many at least) have money which can provide the additional engine for new times and new advances. My trust is that you also realize that what you received in your school days was not what you paid for but much, much more. As your parents extended themselves to put you on the road to success in life, so also did De Nobili extend itself beyond their contribution.Pls confirm: De Nobili Meet at DelhiFriday, 28 August 2009 15:30 De Nobili Schools Delhi Alumni Meet is scheduled to be held on September 19, 2009.Here are the details of the even: Agenda: Re-Connect, Contribute and Network Day/Date : Saturday, September 19 Time: 05.30- 9 P.M Location : India Islamic Cultural Centre Address: 87 - 88, Lodhi Estate School Rep Attending : Father George Fernandes, Director, De Nobili Branch Schools Cost per person: 500/- INR Cost for students: 100/- INR (on presenting college I-card)/ Free for volunteers Please confirm your attendance either by mail / telephone.
