DOSTI celebrates 8th anniversary

AROUND 265 DOSTI members from 9 schools gathered at De Nobili School, FRI on April 19, 2008 to celebrate the DOSTI Day. Mr Ashim Tesra was the organiser of the event. It was masti unlimited.

The day began with a speech by Fr George Fernandes SJ, the principal of Denobili school FRI, highlighting the significance of social work and community service. The vice principal of the school, Bernard Pandey challenged the club members to show some concrete results by bringing about some substantial improvement in the living standard of the down trodden section of the society.

Classes begin at DNS, Bhuli

De Nobili School, Bhuli began its classes. "It is a small beginning, but on a firm ground," said Fr George Fernandes, SJ, Principal-DNS FRI and Director-De Nobili Schools. The school has begun with about 65 students. More admissions coming.

"I am so happy, thank you for getting it to this stage," Anurag Dikshit of Kusuma Trust, one of the main supporters of the new school, said in a mail to Fr Principal.

Interact Club’s Old Clothes Drive

The Interact Club under guidance of Mr Vijayan Francis and Mr Rupen Dutta, has swung into action, under a new set of officials, an old clothes drive has been announced, where the students have been asked to contribute old clothes so that they can be donated in the nearby poor areas. But what has been a matter of great concern, is the luke warm response of the Nobilians.

Dear Fr Hess

I would like to quote here two instances where YOU have made a mark on me, and I vividly remember the episodes.

One: I must be Standard IX (or probably X). I was the Editor of The Nobilian and The Annual (thanks to Fr H C Bradley). You and I were talking on the subject in the hallway, outside the staff room area. While we were talking, a senior student of St XI passed by, between the two of us. I remember you called him, explained to him it was ill mannered to pass between two people if they are talking. You made him come back, and go around us.
