Dear Friends,

Just rec'd this sad news from Rajat. May God give rest and eternal peace to this kind and genial soul. My recollections of Fr. Welsh go way long back when I was in 8th in DNS and Fr Welsh was teaching moral science to our class. He had a unique way of identifying the students. Through his class placement map in which he recognised each student through the seating place. I was astounded when I came to know about it. I happened to fall sick with measles and did not go to school almost 3-4 weeks.
One hot afternoon on a Saturday, I saw one old vespa scooter stopping at our front gate with Fr. Welsh looking around. Apparently, he noticed my empty seat for 2 weeks, found out about me and came to see me all the way on that scooter from Digwadih to Dhanbad on a hot afternoon. Our whole family was really touched by the gesture. He actually did not know my name and identified me from the empty seat only. Such was the dedication of these noble souls...the very reason we are standing tall in this big world even though we come from a small town in India.
