One day a young mother met Aristotle with this question, "When should I begin training my child?" "How old is your child?" asked Aristotle. "Why, he is five years old", answered the mother. "Hurry home", cried Aristotle, "You are five years late already."

Well, dear parents, you entrusted these young men when they were just five years old, and you dear students, some of you may remember that first day when you walked into the portals of this school, some crying, some laughing and brimming with excitement, some confused, some bewildered, and some of you may not even remember that day. Mr Chandrashekher FrancisYour life at De Nobili...
I am an ex-student of De Nobili school. I was born in a family of teachers. Infact, my father was the first teacher in this School. I completed my graduation, masters degree and B. ED from Ranchi university. I joined De Nobili School in October 1992. Before that I was teacher in three different schools. I have an experience of 23 years of teaching.

What inspired you to take up the teaching profession?
The biggest inspiration was my mother because she herself was a teacher. From my childhood, I saw teachers coming to my house. I think this profession is very attractive and inspirational. I remember in my childhood, I used to play games pretending to be a teacher.

Fr Hess informs us that Jitendra Agarwalla (1967) has authored a book called "WHO AM I?", published Pustak Mahal Delhi. The book is based on a  set of 33 questions about unexplained phenomenae or features of Hinduism.

Questions like:
1.Why is the cow called mother?
2.Why some cremate others bury their dead?
3. Why Draupadi had 5 husbands?
4. What happens to those who die?
5.What do Shiv's Trishul and damru, Krishna's chakra and flute represent?

"Jitendra was helpful to me a few years ago in my search for land for a new De Nobili on the north side of Dhanbad, and near to Bhuli. His father donated the 6 acre plot of land in Digwadih on which DNS was founded. Later they donated another plot, the one on which the teachers' quarters stands," says Fr Hess.
